“Wanna see what I got last time?” Jukka asks. The question is rhetorical.
Jukka knows that Anna does. For Anna, the pictures are a dive into a wondrous world.
It feels as if the oxygen in the body increases. Looking at the pictures, relaxation fills the mind and body and, best of all, sets the imagination galloping!
Anna L. is a friend of Jukka Rapo’s who has been able to see Jukka’s pictures and videos for decades.
These flights of fancy written by Anna are moods, words placed one after another just as they well up while looking at the pictures.

The planning and making of the film The Seventh Wave took about a year.
“The most important thing was to create a whole that tells of Jukka’s special relationship with the sea and his ability to approach it. Jukka does not take from the sea – he receives from it. That is a big difference from the way such subjects are usually approached. Our task was to support Rapo in completing a whole that differs from everything people are used to seeing in pictures of the sea.”
Planning, productionexhibitions
Winter 2026 was still hectic. Versions of the edit, sound design, colour grading, work on the texts. The collaboration of several wonderful artists began to form a coherent whole.
It was time to find a place for the premiere! The Lapinlahti Film Festival included the film in its programme, and the premiere was celebrated on 21 August 2026.
An inspiration projecttowards Ihanuutta!
The collaboration gave rise to Anna L.’s inspiration project, Flights of Fancy. The flights of fancy are words and paintings evoked by feelings, inspired by Jukka Rapo’s photographs and film.
They were born like a wave, in the moment. Words shimmered onto paper, and pictures pushed up like mushrooms in an autumn forest.
